The kit I ordered came with two 300 wts monolights, two 24x36 inch softboxes, two 7ft light stands and two 250 wt modeling bulbs. The kit sounded to good to be true for the price of only $380 after shipping, but I decided I'd give it a try since I'v had good luck with this company before. All I can say about these is that there unbelievable for the price! There power and quality resembles a monolight you'd pay double that. With its cybersync friendly jack and its audible recycle signal it has, I have nothing bad to say after putting these strobes to the test!

One of lightroom's shortfalls is it's lack of watermarking features. That's where Mogrify comes in.

Mogrify is a great plugin for lightroom. I don't know what I would do without it. Actually, I don't know why lightroom didn't include something like this in the beginning. It is that helpful.

1. Start by downloading Mogrify here:
http://timothyarmes.com/lr2mogrify.php

2. Next install the plugin

You should be reading the instructions on how to install and set up Mogrify as it does require some modification.

3. Create a watermark in PSD or TIFF format with Photoshop,Fireworks or an equivalent program. It must have a transparent background. I chose to use TIFF because the PSD wasn't showing up on the exported image for some reason.

4. Enable Mogrify Configuration in Post-Process Actions (This is where reading the instructions comes in handy)

5. Enable Graphical Watermark in Post-Process Actions. Enable "Overlay Watermark"

6. Locate your file and configure the options it to your needs. I chose Lighten in Overlay Mode to show the white watermark

7. Export!

And it should come out like this:

I have not had the Vivitar 285HV for long but so far I love it. I bought it of craigslist for half price and I am so happy I did end up purchasing it. Some advantages of the 285HV is that it is made for DSLR cameras, it has the wide normal and zoom feature on the flash head, it has a light for the side dial for dark situations, and it is super quick and easy. I would totally recommend this strobe for any DSLR photographer.
Here's something I shot with it yesterday with it....
Lemme know what you guys think about the 285HV.
